Well, I am. I'm Sam Bischof.
But if you want a list of business related specifics, we can start with that. Here's a snapshot of my professional life over the last 20 years (keep scrolling for a bit about my personal life):
- Door-to-door sales: As an introvert this challenged me greatly, but became one of my greatest growth experiences and gave me an incredible understanding of consumer psychology.
- Co-founded & sold an e-commerce apparel company: My good friend and I created a niche e-commerce apparel company, handling every aspect of the business between the two of us, before successfully selling it three years later. The business is still operational and doing well today.
- Director of Marketing for a start-up: I joined a company as a salesman and shortly thereafter became the Director of Marketing, playing a key role in growing annual revenue from $500,000 to over $20 million before my amicable departure to pursue my own ventures. My last corporate job.
- Media Producer & Filmmaker: I run my own media production business, creating high-quality photo and video content for brands. I've also won awards for a couple of the short films I produced.
- AirBNB Investor & Property Management: Over the past few years I have purchased AirBNBs and continue to self-manage the properties I own, as well as offer property management services to other short term rental owners.
- Honorable Mentions: Many projects started and never finished, numerous failed business attempts, chasing new opportunities instead of staying consistent, and every other learning experience that has left me with invaluable lessons in business.
A few personal bullet points:
- I was born in Oregon, but my home base is in Arizona...for now.
- Growing up, I lived in 11 different houses, and attended 9 different schools, across 3 different states (Oregon, Utah, New Mexico), all before the age of 18.
- Music and the outdoors are my two real passions.
- I played in a band from high school until I was 29. We put on a local show once for the release of a new album we had recorded. The promoter told us she had found a cool folk-rock band to open for us that happened to be in Phoenix on tour, in a little van, from Denver. No one knew who they were but they called themselves, The Lumineers. We had a great show together. That same year they exploded on the music scene when their song "Ho Hey" went to the top of the charts.
- My wife and I have two amazing boys, Ranger and Rusty, and a dog named, Jasper.
